Hi babes! Morgan from ATL Girl Gang here. I feel like I owe you an explanation for how this whole thing got started. Less than three months ago, the words ATL Girl Gang had never been spoken and had definitely never crossed my train of thought. But, a few dead end Google searches lead to the creation of a beautiful accident that is our Girl Gang.
While searching for local web designers and photographers, who were not only girl bosses, but also fun and enjoyable to work with, it became clear that it wasn't going to be that simple. When there wasn't an Instagram account out there showcasing these ladies I was searching for, I figured: whatever, guess I'll start one. If it doesn't take off, whatever, worth a shot. They say that's how all the good things start - on accident. And though we have a long way to go until that can be fully determined, I'd say it's off to a pretty darn good start!
Fast forward a couple of days and my love of hosting kicked in. After a few chats with Lucy from Lucy's Market, we decided to dive in head first and plan a Launch Party. She gave me a few photographer recommendations and a caterer she just loved, and I started emailing. Hey, what's the worst that can happen? If no one comes, at least we tried and at least I made a friend in Lucy, right?! Color me shocked, but almost every single girl boss we reached out to had an overwhelming "YES" response when asked if they wanted to join forces to create this dinner.
The Launch Party was SPECTACULAR. Each and every girl who contributed to the collaborative dinner was eager, laid-back, on their A-game, and most importantly, THRILLED to be in the Gang. I have to give it to the 20 ladies who joined. Anyone would say yes to a Refinery29 party or a Foray Collection party (duh!), but @ATLGirlGang had barely 300 followers when they all sign on to partake. If that doesn't show their work ethic and desire to succeed, then I don't know what will. So bravo ladies, you are incredible.
From there, it was clear ATL Girl Gang had something that Atlanta had been missing. In less than 3 months, look where we are: writing a BLOG POST. Told myself that would never happen... But, you asked for it, so here it is, ladies!
BIG THANKS to the ladies below for their contribution to our OG Launch Party. Of course, it's called the OG because you all were so over-the-moon about the event, that we just had to host a Launch Party 2.0 - and it's this week (eek!).
